Over 40 years ago, concerned citizens in Lubbock sought to transform the lives of homeless, neglected, and dependent boys in the South Plains. In 1975, land was donated to establish the Texas Girls & Boys Ranch, and in 1976, Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS constructed a vocational training building. Since then, AMBUCS has provided ongoing financial support through annual telethons and special fundraisers, including the construction of a new basketball gym. Situated on 460 acres, the Texas Girls & Boys Ranch operates as a working ranch where children learn valuable life skills in a nurturing, family-like environment. The mission of the ranch is "Sharing Jesus, Healing Hearts, Transforming Lives."
