Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS

AMBUCS™ (American Business Clubs) is a national non-profit service organization comprised of a diverse group of men and women who are dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.

Founded on June 1, 1956, the Lubbock Caprock Chapter of AMBUCS was established under the sponsorship of the Lubbock Downtown Chapter with 44 dedicated charter members. Led by our inaugural president, James E. Norman, the chapter welcomed notable Lubbock figures, including Paul Bush and Delwin Jones, as founding members.

Our vibrant membership reflects the diversity of our community, bringing together bankers, nurses, business owners, and professionals from various fields, all united by a shared commitment to AMBUCS’ mission of inspiring mobility and independence.

Each year, we host the Caprock Classic, the nation’s largest basketball tournament, which serves as our cornerstone fundraiser. Every dollar raised is dedicated to impactful charitable initiatives, including providing AmTrykes, building accessibility ramps, and funding scholarships for therapy students in Lubbock and beyond.

We are recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under IRS regulations.

"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace."

(1 Peter 4:10)
