Scholarship
The AMBUCS Scholars program represents the largest single private source of educational grants for therapists in the United States. AMBUCS has provided over $7 Million to educate students in accredited programs for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and hearing audiology. The reason for providing the scholarships to therapists is that the recipients will graduate and go on to make a positive influence in the lives of thousands of people.
Scholarships are offered to U.S. citizens in their junior/senior year in a bachelor's degree program, or a graduate program leading to a master's or doctoral degree. Awards range from $500 to $1,500 annually with one two-year award of $6,000. Over $180,000 was awarded last year with Texas Tech students receiving over $18,000. Our club is proud of the recently established Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS endowed scholarship that will be given to a Texas Tech therapist. Our endowed scholarship is given to a student that exhibits a willingness and desire to improve the lives of others through their volunteer efforts.
National Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, commitment to the local community, academic accomplishment, character for compassion and integrity, and career objectives. Applications are accepted each year from mid-January through April 15. Please visit http://www.ambucs.com/scholarship-program-information/ to find the application and get more information about the National AMBUCS Scholarship.
In addition to the National Scholarship Program, Caprock AMBUCS has a scholarship program that is directly linked to our basketball program. The candidate must have been a player or manager/trainer in the FiberMax Caprock Classic Basketball Tournament. The complete list of requirements for eligibility and the formal application are found in this document. The Club will present $1000 scholarships to 8 different students in 2012.
